Big Game Draws –
There are few draws that have not been drawn at this point. If you did not draw a good hunt, you might consider Texas. That state has hunts available form anything from A to Z. I mean that really. They start with a draw hunt for alligator, and I bet somewhere, some ranch will sell you a hunt for a Zebra. Draw hunt have deadlines on the first and fifteenth each month beginning August 1st, and the last one is November 1st. Some of the categories have hunts in the dead of winter. These are a good excuse to enjoy some warmer weather that time of the year.
Texas applications for alligator are due August 1st
There are several different hunts to apply for, and you can apply for all of them. I did not look this year, but I did get a chuckle out of the rules for one of them that I noted a few years ago. They once stated that rubber boats were not allowed.
Texas applications for Pronghorn and Javelina are due August 15th
Again, you can apply for all the hunts. Some are on public land and some on private. Reasonable cost, and at least the antelope hunts are in the corner closest to Washington.
Montana applications for points are due September 30th
Wyoming applications for points are due Oct 31st.
