Every Veterans Day the NWSC sponsors a Wounded Veterans Waterfowl hunt with Guide Kent Contreras. Here is a summary of this weekend's windy hunt!
“I just had our sponsored wounded warrior hunt with a gentleman who was involved with Afghanistan and Iraq operations right after 9/11. He was a green beret and involved with the fall of Karzai, one of the “A” teams assigned (if you ever heard of the movie and events of the “12 Strong” that was one of the outfits he was working with. His name is Wes McGirr, great guy, very humble and just happy to get out and hunt. We got him his first ever drake mallards, some other ducks and 4 geese for the weekend. Weather and birds were not cooperative, but we managed to have a great time.
I will get him back up here when the conditions are better. Here is a picture of Saturday’s outing. Sunday turned into a rush, and I didn’t get any photos. Thank you so much for the support to this endeavor.
The gentleman on the left is Chad Hewey, a past recipient of the NWSC Sponsored wounded veteran hunts and he helped me out this weekend. Wes is the big guy on the right!”

Great day at Rock Lake Sporting Clays for the NWSC Club Fun Shoot! The folks that took the time to enjoy some fun clay bird shooting had a wonderful time. Such a great facility and we are looking forward to making this an annual event. Thank you so much Gary Varrella for organizing this event.

Mission Statement
This club is primarily a Volunteer Social Club created for and by our friends to preserve our outdoor interests. We will pursue conservation of our environment and the wildlife in it. We will educate in the fields of Conservation, Shooting, Hunting and Related Outdoor Activities. With funds and volunteer work we will support various Environmental, Educational and Charitable groups. This group will always keep in mind that we are all friends that will work hard to perpetuate the things we love to do.

Our club is made up of many young families, wives and children that undertake many projects in our region to educate youth and enhance wildlife habitat. We also enjoy each other�s company and conduct many functions that are purely fun.
